Fabric Direction

Window blind fabrics hang better when the blind is manufactured with the fabric hanging in the direction of the warp, hence all our of fabrics are classed as ‘one-way’.

If a blind is made using the weft direction for the drop (railroaded), the majority of fabrics exhibit some degree of curl, the degree of acceptance of this varies from market to market.
Some markets railroad fabrics to achieve coverage for wider windows in circumstances where window width is significantly greater than window drop.
Certain fabric types, such as border prints, require the fabric to be turned through 90 degrees and any resultant curl is acceptable as this is the only way such a product can be produced.
On occasion when railroading fabrics, some blind manufacturing companies run the fabric off the front of the roller rather than the back in order to help reduce the amount of curl.
